Coats Group plc is the world's leading manufacturer of thread and structural components for apparel and footwear, and a pioneer in performance materials. The FTSE250 company operates in around 50 countries with a permanent workforce of more than 16,000, serving customers across apparel, footwear, automotive, telecoms, personal protection and outdoor goods. In 2025, Coats and DMIx announced a strategic partnership to build a centralised platform for colour development and cross-functional collaboration, from initial design through to delivery. The partnership brings DMIx's spectral-based colour workflows, scalable 3D asset libraries and digital twin capabilities into Coats' product development process. The goal: fewer physical samples, faster decisions, and a shared, verified reality between Coats' teams, partners and customers, supporting both development speed and Coats' Science Based sustainability targets for 2030 and beyond.
